What is a Thermocouple

A thermocouple is a commonly used temperature sensing element in temperature measuring instruments. It directly measures temperature and converts temperature signals into thermoelectromotive force signals, which are then converted into the temperature of the measured medium by electrical secondary instruments.
Although the appearance of various thermocouples varies greatly according to application requirements, their basic structures are roughly the same. A thermocouple is generally composed of thermal electrodes, insulating sleeves,protection tubes and junction boxes. It is usually used in conjunction with display instruments, recording instruments and electronic regulators.
